Examples of the reversibility of lens opacity. a In anaesthetised mice (80% setting), lens opacity of grade 5–6 induced by ocular surface dryness began to regain transparency at 1 h and showed complete reversion to grade 1 at 6 h. b In non-anaesthetised mice, lens opacity of grade 3–4 induced by infrared light exposure of 40 min in wet ocular surface condition began to regain transparency at 1 h and showed complete reversion to grade 1 at 6 h
