STZ- and STZ/CGA-induced changes in the levels of IL-6, TNF-α, and CRP. The relative concentrations of IL-6, TNF-α, and CRP in serum were measured from 1 ml blood of sample 1 week after treating rats with STZ or STZ plus CGA. The values of cytokines and CRP for untreated rat group (Control) were set to one (1). Values represent the mean ± S.D. of seven independent samples. *P < 0.05, compared to control and #P < 0.05, compared to STZ-treated rats, respectively
