1 | Orients to site on palpation, does not resist palpation |
2 | Orients to site, may lick, slight objection to palpation (body tensing or splinting) |
3 | Moderate objection to palpation. Withdraws from palpation, may vocalize, may lick at site or pay attention to site after palpation. May become somewhat aggressive or show guarding behavior |
4 | Tries to escape palpation or prevent palpation, may bite, vigorously guards the area. May chew, bite, or rub area after palpation |
